All things must pass...
We should all be so lucky to be able to pick our own
time to retire or switch directions in our work! I'm
grateful that the Oils existed at all - they have been
a doorway for me into Australian music, politics,
culture and history. If Peter puts the same amount of
energy into his future endeavors, be they the ACF or
politics, then we will all be better off for it. I
only got to see them play once, but their inspiration
will last longer than my memories of that one show. If
I can be allowed one silly regret, it would be that
now I can't plan an Australian vacation to coincide
with an Oils show.

I should think this list would continue to serve to
follow the new careers of all the band members as well
as to discuss current events. If you take away the
politics from "Discussion of the music and politics of
Midnight Oil", then all that's left is a rock'n'roll
fan club which I'd like to think Mr. Garrett would
agree is a pretty trivial thing.

Looking forward to new Ghostwriters or Fuzzface or
whatever it will be. And God love him, I'm going to go
mail that Greenpeace donation now...

Barbara
