**LATEST ON TICKETS**

The WAVE AID Tsunami Relief concert featuring Midnight Oil, Powderfinger,
Silverchair, John Butler Trio, The Wrights, The Finn Brothers, Kasey
Chambers, Nick Cave, Missy Higgins, Pete Murray and The Waifs, scheduled for
Saturday, January 29 at the Sydney Cricket Ground, went on sale this morning
to unprecedented demand.

By 12 noon over 34,500 tickets had been snapped up through Ticketek. A
further 3,000 travel packages have been sold through Showbiz and Pinpoint,
and an industry allocation of 2,000 tickets has sold out. This brings the
total tickets sold to just under 40,000 in three hours.

The organisers are assessing the staging layout to ensure sightlines are
unimpeded for the patrons before releasing the FINAL batch of WAVEAID
tickets. The availability of these tickets will be announced as soon as the
sightline information is available, but it would be advisable to continue to
check with Ticketek for the release of tickets. Private boxes are available
by ringing the SCG direct on Ph 1800 885 555.

Michael Chugg, one of the concert producers, commented: "It was three weeks
ago this Wednesday that the first call came through from the managers of the
bands expressing their desire to stage a benefit concert. What has been
achieved in those three weeks is a credit to all concerned. But we're not
finished yet. There will be more tickets available, but patrons safety and
comfort is paramount before releasing those tickets."

Hi there,
I live in the UK, and am flying out to Sydney to see the Oils. I have
got a ticket for the warm up gig but can't get any for Wave aid on the
29th. My mate has a ticket in the Green section. If any kind soul out
there has a ticket for the green section (though I'll take any as long
as I can get in). I'd be gutted to be in the UK and miss the gig, but
to fly all the way to Australia and not get a ticket would be worse.
They are going for silly money on ebay unfortunately, and are out of
my pay limit.
