Hmmm... the all-time "pillars" of my reading life over the past 40 years....?

"Diary of a Young Girl" by Anne Frank
"Hamlet" by W. Shakespeare (though it must also be seen, not just read)
"All the President's Men" by Woodward & Bernstein
"The Right Stuff" by Tom Wolfe (tied with "Coming of Age in the Milky Way" by
Timothy Ferris and "Lonely Hearts of the Cosmos" by Dennis Overbye)
"Main Street" by Sinclair Lewis (tied with "The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott
Fitzgerald and "An American Tragedy" by Theodore Dreiser)

The next political book in my "To Be Read" pile: "What Liberal Media?" by
Eric Alterman

Book I'm reading now: "Domesday Book" by Connie Willis (time-travel science
fiction)

I guess this would be a good time to mention the awesome Web site
http://www.bookcrossing.com, which is a giant "global book club that crosses time and
space" to quote the home page. I can just imagine a whole bunch of Powderworkers
passing around a copy of "Willie's" among themselves, registering it each time
it goes to a new 'worker, and creating a giant amount of buzz around this
book. (Hint, hint, hint!) Do check out this site!

Cheers,
Patty in Maryland
