Hi all,
This message is for non-techies (that's me!) struggling to copy VCDs on
a Win XP computer. Win XP seems to be a "Michael Jackson" product - it
has some seeeeeerious issues. I stupidly went out and bought a CD
copying program without checking the company's Web site first. Five
days, three emails, and some 6 downloaded fixes later I STILL couldn't
get the damn thing to work. (I'm too polite to name names, but the
initials of the company from which I purchased this dog are Data
Becker.)
Roxio EZ CD creator 5.X will work, however, and it probably came bundled
with your software. (Later versions of this program cost about $100, so
if you don't have it, do a search for their EZ CD Creator Basic product,
which costs $20. There seem to be lots of places still selling this
version.) If you already have it, it won't work without the XP fix,
which you can get here:
http://www.roxio.com/en/support/ecdc/ecdc_xpFAQecdcv5p.jhtml
Having downloaded the fix and rebooted, open the Disc Copier utility and
you're ready to make copies.
Happy weeding! - Beth
