Workers,
I can't think of a better man for PM of any country than PG, not because of any socialist leanings he may or may not have, but because of his integrity!
THE AGENDA forces itself upon whoever is leading these days, and the typical response has been to succumb. The nice thing about PG would be the possibility of seeing a different agenda begin to emerge. I'd consider moving to OZ just for the opportunity to vote him in.
And I agree with Joffa that the Scando-Nordic lands have been bettered by socialism. Maybe because it hasn't been extreme, or because the people have a stronger vision, or because those nations have been led by reasonable individuals who haven't sold their souls or sense of community - guys like our PG - to the money machine. But they do appear to be prospering without the rampant eco-debauchery my land is famously pursuing, and to the benefit of all members. That we should be so blest! :)
cheers,
bruce in calgary

your country? your quote looks scandinavian, but i don't really know, and
of the scandinavian countries, i would say that socialism is faaaaaaaaaaar
from ruining sweden, norway and especially denmark (i guess your finnish
then!!!) those three have some of the most socially advanced and cohesive
communities in the world. we'd die for some of that leadership here...

>PG for PM, huh? I'm not so sure. I'd think carefully about that one. I
mean, I like his environmental platform. I think he's proactive without
being extremist (usually). But how socialist is PG? Socialism is killing
this country, and I'd hate to see it kill Australia as well.
