I was wondering when someone would remind us of what got said back in =
August as the Sept 11 anniversary loomed before us. =20
To quote myself from August 12 in retaliation to the Jonathan's Nazi =
remarks and Todd's 'you-had-it-coming' remarks, "Sleep well..... but =
don't come crying to us when it hits your hometown, someday." Well now =
it's hit Australia's hometown, or at least its vacation-town, hasn't it? =
And I, as well as many other Americans, are just as deeply disturbed by =
Kuta Beach as we were with New York City. I, for one, was appreciative =
to hear Rob Hirst say that Australians now have more of a sense of what =
happened in New York on September 11, 2001. "I guess we have a feeling =
now of what New Yorkers went through" he says. "I guess 911 was a bit =
distant for most Aussies and Kiwis but now with our own being blown up =
in such a horrifying fashion you get a sense of what it is like to live =
under terror." =20
"Maybe Australia shouldn't care about what happens to the US anymore"? =
Don't you think we should all care about what happens to each other, =
from now on, Craiggy?=20
At least you haven't heard any Americans say that Australia "had it =
coming"
or "caused this to happen," something which was said about the U. S. =
after
the September 11 tragedies. =20
