[Powderworks] Capricornia Meltdown

Well, I don't know if I'd rate it that high, but...

I've REALLY grown to like Capricornia over the past few weeks. When I first
got it, to be honest, I was somewhat disappointed and thought that the Oils
were continuing down the same unfortunate path they started on with Breathe.
I think maybe it was the sequencing of songs, I always felt this sometimes
was a weak point for the Oils (weird, because they always tend to do a great
job of it on live set lists). Or perhaps it was Redneck Wonderland (The CD
that currently comes in at number 4 on my all time favorite Oils records)
was such a hard act to follow. Anyway, I've really grown to like the CD and
think that from "Crocodile Cries" on, it's pure genius.

The biggest surprise for me listening to the CD now, is how much hearing the
live version of "Say Your Prayers" changed my opinion of the song. Not that
it was all that different from the recorded version... I dunno, just seeing
the boys up there with Pete sneering "Spend a week with the Timorese" really
did something for me. Up until then, I thought it sort of dragged, now it's
one of my favorite tracks.

Anybody ever had a similar experience of having their minds changed by
hearing an Oils song performed live?
