Bones use to live with Neill. Maybe thats why he cleaned his pool.

>Hi there,
>I just read this on the Crowded House, Tongue in the Mail list.
>It's pretty funny. For those that don't know, "Six months in a Leaky Boat"

>and "Haul Away" are two Tim Finn composed Split Enz tracks from their Time

>and Tide release. And the last paragraph I have heard before. What a story.

>Bones was cleaning Neil Finn's pool whilst the old Oils were playing round

>the world with their D&D album. That reminds me, does anyone have the Blue

>Sky Mine album with the sticker on the front proclaiming "the New Midnight

>Oil". I guess it was their way of introducing their new bassist.
>See ya
>Stephen
>"This is a mad house...you'll be lucky to make it till Tuesday".

>>Hi all,
>>
>>I happened to be listening to KFOG this a.m. and the morning crew mentioned

>>that they'd be playing 'new Neil Finn' on New Releases Thursday.
>>
>>Two questions: when is One All being released in the US? And what is the
>>single? I don't remember.
>>
>>In other news, I saw Midnight Oil last night (fantastic show!). It was
>>bassist Bones Hillman's birthday. Someone brought out a cake with candles

>>halfway through the show, but instead of playing Happy Birthday, Peter
>>Garrett and Jim Moginie started playing 'Six Months in a Leaky Boat', with

>>Peter improvising lyrics that were more akin to 'Haul Away' (with Bones'
>>life story instead of Tim's). The rest of the band were a bit clueless so

>>they didn't really join in. It was funny, and Bones looked totally
>>embarassed.
>>
>>Apparently Bones used to clean Neil's pool in the days before Neil
>>recommended him to the Oils as the replacement for their original bassist.

>>
>>Ciao,
>>
