To expand on this, there are several RSL clubs in Australia, which are
basically fairly large social clubs whose main revenue comes from poker
machines & other forms of gambling. Each RSL club contains several sporting
teams & associations within it (lawn bowls, soccer, cricket, rugby league,
etc) They also contribute heavily to local charities & often co-ordinate
fund raising for various needy causes. But the best feature (apart from
cheap drinks) is that they usually have big auditoriums which have been the
scene for many great Oils (and other top bands) concerts !!
