Hey everyone. I feel a bit odd today because I
expected to be more traumatized by the news of the
Oils' breakup. I am very sad that we won't hear any
more new music from the band we love and won't
experience the thrill of seeing them live again.

However, i'm also very grateful that they hit the U.S.
one last time and gave it their all. I had only seen
them once before October 2001, and I've attended six
concerts since that time. I was truly worried back in
1999 that the band was finished, so even getting
another great album and tour was a welcome bonus.

It's true that a void will exist now, but they all
will be moving onto other things. I imagine that we'll
hear more great things (together or apart) from
Hirst/Moginie/Hillman/Rotsey, and have a feeling that
Peter Garrett will continue to do positive things in
the public forum.

I feel badly for people in Europe who weren't able to
see them this past year. They still have it! Take
care fellow list members.

Dan
