As before, the chrome camels are the cars, the smooth terrain is the
bitumen road of the city... crash could either refer to the actual act
of crashing, or the combined sound of many cars blasting out the intense
sound of movement on the asphalt...

I can never hear this lyric without thinking about the Imperial Walkers
on
Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back.  I'm guessing that's not what they're
referring to.  So what are chrome camels and why do they crash on smooth
terrain?
