As I wrote to Powderworks after the John Mellencamp/Wallflowers show at Jones Beach in early September in which Will Hoge played the first stage, I think they are a good band.  I have their cd and it has really grown on me since that time.  While they may not exactly be similar to the oils, they are a good band nonetheless. I personally like American bands that have a "roots" element to their music (ex. Counting Crowes, Wallflowers) and they definitely fit that mold.
