All good.  It was a momentary dream of seeing the original owner back at the helm. We have plenty of options and will sort it out.  You’ll stay the list-godfather. :)
I have a WHM instance with ample cPanel slices left to host things including mail lists, so PAAS resources are plenty.  Then there’s groups.io and any number of other ready-made SAAS platforms.
Probably best not to jump to solutions too fast though.  Best start by defining what problem we are solving, which at present is the death of the archive and similar features on Yahoo, so while it might be an opportune time to take the while list elsewhere, that’s not the need at hand.

Anyway.  We’d better start working on it.  There’s history to be kept first, then future list hosting second I think.

If at any time the whole system turtles without notice, we’ll post a link to the emergency assembly point on Powderworks.org and other known groups.

Cheers

Yeah, see you write that and now I have to admit that I spoke too soon :-|  I have a "share" in a server that could theoretically host the list -- but it turns out there would be no small effort in updating the server and installing the current best-of-breed open source mailing list software -- and while I have a little time I could dedicate to the task, i don't have enough to get it done well or in a timely manner.  I'm sorry for wasting your time in false hope.

Tim, you epic hero. You’ll always be THE Powderworks owner so far as I and many other early members are concerned.
I’ll do anything to facilitate your continued “list-owner”ship.
I am, literally, at your service.

Cheers

Hello all. Give me a few days. I don’t want to be an admin again, but I might be able to host again.

Yep. Sounds like a high-shelf choice so far.  Notes:
- yes, sad
- yes, we can reconvene on a new platform without max pain
- no, don't panic
- always Powderworks.org is meant to signpost the past present and future platforms for pw, for just such mass migrations.
- let's keep an email style platform operating, it's still got traction
- let's try to capture and curate the archive of mail, members, images, links, calendar.
- we have 2 months for a graceful retreat/reposition.

Let's keep the chaos low and the transparent cooperation high.. Do we (the list) agree on the current admins making arrangements transparently or is there something else to mention as needed/better?

Cheers to decades more oily powderworks, on tech-stacks we don't even know of yet. (Discord?)

I discovered Powderworks in about 1995 and would like to see it continue. groups.io looks like a good option, because they can transfer the archives from Yahoo. I hate Facebook.
