I have no idea what's going on with this, but I feel compelled to say that
I don't give a damn about FaceBook or anything on it.
I'm grateful that this list is still active and operating, but I'd like it
even better if any FaceBook drama-rama is left off of it.
Thanks in advance,
CH

Yeah, sounds like another spat has erupted over authenticity.
I'll be responding to it with the temperament of an historian. All events deserve a mention, none deserve singular promotion. Let history run its own course.
Cheers.

While I much prefer this classic Powderworks mailing list, the Facebook version is okay for what it is. But I never thought I’d see the day when Facebook factions were getting all “Oilier than thou”! :D

I reckoned perhaps it was because someone asked what people thought of Greta Thunberg... and unfortunately and predictably some alt-right hateful & mysoginist memes got posted in reply, along with the “I wish they’d keep the politics out of their music” fluff.
So yeah if the “forgotten years” between yours are going to contain mostly that sort of baloney or endless pictures of spread hands I’m inclined to be in a “more real” group too 😏

I have no idea what's going on over on Instaface or whatever the young folks call it, but I'm guessing it's reason number one hundred and thirty nine why I'm not on it.

Always glad to see the original Tim Hunter add his $0.02 worth! I just lurk on this list nowadays, but I’m still here.

While we’re here…
Has anyone heard any more concrete plans for Oils new music or gigs 2020?
AND I probably skipped over it but does anyone have an audio of the Oils in Canberra from May (what a night) that we/I can download from somewhere?
PS facebook is built for inane banter and time wasting, especially since the ‘yoof' deserted it in droves as their parents joined in…

They are definitely recording and there's some talk of gigs next year - the former is definitely concrete, the latter more plaster-of-Paris...
Cheers
