The last time they played the Blue Meanie in full was when it was released.

If you look at the setlists from the tour that culminated with the Twin Towns gigs, they were constantly swapping in/out in 3-4 songs, per show, that they didn't normally play (ie - older stuff). And they constantly changed these from night to night.

If you read that, as a whole, it looks like they were pretty much trying to archive a lot of the older material (IF they were recording it.....) that they didn't play, any more.

Why would they do that? Most likely because it looked like there was a possibility of it all coming to an end & they were trying to get some material in the can for some future, posthumous release (maybe they weren't happy with the response to Scream In Blue? - which, strangely, was obviously REALLY short on material from their live power-period! ((only 4 tracks that were pre-1989... and 3 of these were from the Capitol gig, which was better released, later!))

As it turned out... workers reported, on the list, that Garrett looked disaffected when they got backstage to meet the band and often disengaged from the band & fans to 'sit in the corner'.
And he ended up pulling the plug at the end of the tour & it all went to hell. It had obviously been brewing for some time.

Even that great Twin Towns gig looked like an attempt to capture a much better ranging 'best of' live show, roadies call, or not.
(seriously.... would a roadie not just go: "play the first 3 albums, plus Bird Noises... that would be a perfect set" if they actually could pick the setlist??)

Yeah I can confirm they played 2 songs from every album in chronological order. Second last show they did before Pete took leave. I thought that show was something special (and it was) but last Thursday was something else by the look if it! The next night (last show before Pete left) the roadies picked the set list.
