Here in the US, through the 80s and 90s, there was a great obscure TV show called "Night Flight" that showcased obscurities- great odds and ends of alternative music videos (when Alternative  was an actual Alternative) art house animation, short films, cult films, old commercials from past decades, and various other odds and ends. I used to look forward to watching it in the early 90s at 1AM Saturday nights. 

Its been revived, recently online, where there is some sort of subscription service to watch original episodes, (and it looks like new material is under consideration?).
