Unless I’m missing something not sure if that’s true. The Canberra video was shot by the same person who shot Manly in 2005. He is a big fan but not a professional. Some on this list will know who I’m talking about. Both were promised to be shared but neither have seen the light of day. I think he used two cameras at Manly and three at Canberra. On the other hand the audio was recorded by ABC because the recording van was parked out the back of the venue. This would have been what was played on the radio and I thought it was the best the band had sounded since about 1990….personal opinion.

Have attached a picture of the kit at the exhibition for Rob fans or drummers and a photo of the stage.

The Canberra shows were professionally filmed and afterwards there was something saying the audio recording failed so the video recording was useless.

What I find intriguing is that theses shows were recorded (audio and video) apparently for a DVD release. Then we were told the audio recording failed. Several years later, top quality audio is broadcast on ABC radio. Maybe in the box set to come one day.

With all this Oils discussion going on I was just listening to "Read About It" from one of the warm-up concerts the Oils played for Sound Relief in 2009

(it was made available - just the one song - for download some time ago).  For some reason I thought that a possible live album could come from these shows, and looking back I really wish it had.  The performance of "Read About It" is just incredible, especially for a band that had barely played together for the previous seven years.  Also the set lists for the two shows are incredible.  As much as I want the box set to be released, I think a release from these shows would be just as awesome.  Maybe they'll see the light of day as part of the box set.  Anyway is this just wishful thinking, or does anyone else remember some talk about these shows being released?
