Well don't get me wrong, anything that can drag new people to listen to
the gems that band put out over the years is always welcome. Now let's
face it, we were waiting for something to be announced along with a new
website, and by we I mean hardcore fans that are subscribers over here. So
that's where the disappointment happens.
I think that wouldn't have killed the band/office to release that same
compilation with a bonus ep or something like that with a few live tracks.
That's usually what happens these days, releases in many format so the
fans and non fans can find something to buy. Now if the boxset is still
something planned that's good news... and don't get me started on the fan
only releases, this is the way to go and cannot wait to see if that
happens and in what form.
Cheers

I agree. I'm a bit disappointed, too but I believe the primary purpose
of this release along wiht the new web site is to put the Oils back on
the map and pave the way for further activities including the box set
(the Office has assured me the idea has not been dumped at all). They
also talked about "some fan only releases further down the line"
whatever that means in particular. So let's hope the response to
'Essential Oils' will be so positive to encourage them to put out more.
I've pre-ordered mine ;).

Cheers,

Stephan

I think we have to think this way. We're not the only fans they have.
Just the obsessive ones. This will appeal to the casual fans, maybe
even the ones who only ever heard Bed are Burning. Now, if they buy
this and find out they love it, then the next step is to buy the
albums, and hey presto, what's around the corner but a massive boxset.
This may help sell that.

Sorry folks, I don't want to sound ungrateful, and of course I'll buy
the album. (yes, another obsessive fan).

But I'm quite disappointed, after almost two years of long silences
and ambiguous promises, some of them about "unheard and unseen
stuff"...all we have is a Greatest Hits album.

After 20.000 Watt RSL and Flat Chat compilations I find hard to
understand the release of another "Best of" album...

Well, let's hope something more interesting (live albums...) will come

Have a nice day
