I purchased a high quality, high resolution Nikon CoolScan V ED to scan a few thousand negatives and slides. Color and B&W.

 

They don’t make these scanners anymore; it’s a rapidly declining market, so the second-hand ones are in very high demand. You can Google it for specifications and check eBay for prices.

 

I agree with the comment about ‘ICE’, however there have been improvements since then via a program called VueScan (and others). Again, Google is your friend.

 

To save you about a grand I would be more than happy to scan your negatives at high res. Contact me direct if you like.

Does anyone have a recommendation on a photo negative scanner? I "stumbled across" this gig when I was in NYC (long story), had my camera with me, and took a shedload of pix. Had one blown up to poster size that I got the band to sign and Willie asked me for a copy to send to Rob. Would love to share the pix with the group, but they're sitting in a box in my basement.
