Midnight Oil

Jim's new album is one of traditional Irish folk music - so be aware of what you're getting!  It does not in any way resemble Midnight Oil, The Break, Alas Folkloric or even the previous Shameless Seamus album.

You can listen to the tracks (and buy) at http://shamelessseamus.bandcamp.com/releases

There are only a couple of tracks on there that I'm interested in hearing a second time.

One good thing to see on that site though is that you get the option of downloading FLAC files rather than mp3's if you so desire (they're under the heading "Audiophiles and nerds".  I guess I'm one of the nerds, because the first thing I did with them was convert to mp3 anyway!

Thank you Jeff!!!  Great to hear Jim play those couple of songs.  Has anyone been recording some of his shows or the Break shows recently?  I would love to get a hold of something over here in the US.  I'm going to buy his new album this weekend (Hope the site lets worldwide buyers download it).

Dan

any chance someone could make it available in a form free of the shackles of companies insistent on reinventing something that already exists while not improving much in the process?

How could people get so unkind?

g'day all

There's an excellent interview with Jim Moginie on The Guestroom, ABC Local Radio in the Northern Territory, ahead of his appearance tomorrow night in Alice Springs supporting Neil Murray.

It's nearly an hour of Jim talking about the blackfella whitefella tour, the Oils, Peter Garrett the politician, Neil Murray and his own current projects.  He also performs Shakers and Movers, and Neil Murray's Broken Song.
