Thanks for description.

Question for listmembers: let's say I'm considering a trip to Australia from the US and what would seal the deal would be a chance to see The Break while on the trip. July would be the month (maybe into August), and I am wondering how I would go about seeing if there is any possibility that The Break will be doing shows in July. Should I write the old Midnight Oil office, Arlene Brooks perhaps?

Thanks,
Jim W.

Hey Everyone,

Saw the Break on Friday night on the Gold Coast.

Ironic, as Rob pointed out through the show, on the same stage as The Oils played their final two gigs before Pete left.

The band sounded great, looked very relaxed and seemed to be really enjoying themselves. A good group of avid onlookers up the front keen to see and hear what the group had to offer.

Some great tunes, not familiar enough with most to recall any sort of setlist, but Massacres (awesome riffs), Cylinders and Winkipop from memory some real stand outs. WCI got a run,as did Miserlou(?) the Dick Dale tune - the Black Eyed Peas fans were very happy.

Jim particularly seemed more relaxed than anytime I'd seen him in Oils mode and I was super impressed by Brian Ritchie. Some fantastic bass playing, really well suited to the music.

Made me wonder how different the sound might be if Bones was still in the country and part of the project.

Anyways, a great night, the band were signing cds etc before the Gurus came on. Very jealous of a mate who I took along, sees his first Oils related show, meets the band and gets his new cd signed - still trying to get one of my old interview cds signed by Martin - one day the planets will align....

Get along and see them if you can, a treat to see these fantastic musicians playing together again.

Kev
