Not that I agree with your omissions, Chris, but I too will cut certain tracks that don't work for me. Capricornia comes to mind ... as does Shakers and Movers.

I don't think I had listened to Breathe all the way through for nearly a decade, at least not until after a recent visit to the 8th and 9th wards of New Orleans and a large go daiquiri. Certain cuts from it are always in heavy rotation though, particularly e-beat. It reminds me of leaving Hampton Beach, NH after a good round with a body board and some sweet storm surf. (Devil was a dancing on the old foreshore, Hitting up on bright lights and the cut price liquor stores ...)

Funny, I always thought it was one of the best songs - now Shakers and Movers on the other hand - but then, I listen to slightly modified versions of most Oils albums anyway. BSM I like to drop Shakers and Movers in favour of You May Not Be Released, Breathe is hugely improved by the removal of Underwater and One Too Many Times. I keep an alternative version of Redneck around, too, with the True Believers Blind version of Cemetery swapped in, and Heaven and Earth in place of Drop in the Ocean.

Point is, if you find an album improved by changing it, you should! I never used to listen to Breathe, now it's one of my favourites - songs like Bring on the Change truly are forgotten classics.

That would be a greatly improved version of BSM indeed!
