And don't forget everything that occurred with Twitter during the Iranian elections! Social media is no longer only child's play. It has become an amazing way to connect our world and bring about change. I'm speaking as a person that grew up surrounded by these technologies. Rather than dismiss these types of things, we should embrace them and use them for good! I only recenly joined Twitter (a month ago) and it was because I was required to do so for a graduate level course. I thought Twitter was the worst thing ever, but I have been completely convinced otherwise after realizing how much information is out there and how much I can learn from Twitter. As a teacher, I have been blown away by the community of educators on Twitter and how many resources I have gained in this short month. Technology is constantly changing. We don't know what it will bring in a week from now... kind of boggles the mind!

Don't say that. Here in Germany Twitter recently caused an uproar
because presedential election results leaked before the official
announcement and even election prognoses before closing of the polling
places in the government elections...
