Hi All,

I received my Sound Relief DVDs last Thursday and I absolutely can't believe how well done they are.  The sound quality is fantastic and the video even more so.  What an amazing collection of music to have on the shelf.  Now, if only it was NTSC...still need to get that cheap DVD player that can handle it all instead of having to play it on my computer :-)

My first priority was to view the Oils set.  Though I have seen it several times thanks to those on this list that previously posted the broadcast, the DVD quality of both video and remastered audio is just amazing.  My wife was standing at the door to the office, where I was watching on the computer, and said, "Wow, they sound so tight...those guys are such a gift!" They really are...it makes me sad every time I think about the number of songs and performances that don't get the stage time they well deserve...

Once I could tear myself away from the Oils, I started viewing other acts...acts that I had seen mentioned on this list, but were never part of my childhood here in the states.  First, have to say that, I had never heard John Farnham sing, but got goose bumps watching him perform, thinking how stoked he must have been to be back on stage and have such a response...that and be accompanied by Coldplay (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xn4XK8JNdC4&feature=related) :-)

Also notable for me, the Hoodoo Gurus.  I've listened to them forever, but never seen or heard any live footage.   Again, I can't believe how great the audio quality is on these DVDs.  Next, I have to say I was blown away by one Mr. Liam Finn.  Oh dear God, he is one talented boy...time for me to get that looping pedal I've been wanting...great energy.  I do love a good dance band as well and The Presets have a great sound.  However, the bands and artists I really wanted to hear, that are always mentioned here, but I've been clueless of, Paul Kelly, Split Enz, Icehouse, Hunters & Collectors were all great to finally listen to...I wish I had grown up with more exposure to music from Australia...what a treat.

Anyone looking for a great music collection for an amazing price and for a good cause, pick up these DVDs...really, I'm not usually one to plug something or try to sell anything, but I don't think anyone on this list would be disappointed...
