Midnight Oil

I wasn't expecting much, and tried to keep an open mind, but I find the result is practically unlistenable.

The singing is limp, the overlying speech at the beginning is ham handed, and the music is so watered down as to have lost any semblence of the tune's greatness.  This is not an "anthem" as it has been marketed, it's a jingle.

These lyrics changes have only an environmentalist sense…. and during a campaign more people hearing is best… Peter is thinking like a politician not like a musician ….

I made an attempt to match these lyrics changes to the original rhythm, and wound up kind of... well, confused. I'm optimistic about it, though, I'll say that much.

Were it not for the obvious fact that "Beds" wasn't the band's most recognized song, I'd ask if that was REALLY the best song to re-purpose. I ignored this idea at the time, though.
