Hi,
As I stated in my previous messages, this
problem is independent of the aspect ratio specified in the IFO.
The
problem is that there is an optional header in the MPEG2 video format which
specifies aspect ratio. It is NOT supposed to be used to determine playback
ratio for DVD's, however, some players use it that way anyway. So some players
attempt to play this DVD back as 4:3, and some players will respect the IFO
and treat is as 16:9.
Thus, any and all attempts to re-author at the
DVD level will fail - rather, it is necessary to patch the MPEG2 video data
itself.

actually
dvd shrink makes it playable with vlc which is already an improvement.
ifoedit tells me it is 16x9 and it looks like it too but gspot tells me it
is 4:3 so i need to compare to the original

How could people get so unkind?

[powderworks] Re: sound relief DVD
Sorry, didn't really work either (aspect ratio still 4:3). Did the
following (on Linux): demux vobs with ProjectX, remux with mplex, author
with DVDStyler and set the aspect ratio to 16:9
there.
