Hi

Thanks for the link.

bottom line - both Max and V are channels included in the base package (or "get started" as it is called by Foxtel). you can find the package definition here - http://www.foxtel.com.au/packagescentral.htm

as a side note it seems to me that the 2nd bullet of your "premium" category already includes the 1st one

as another side note the entire clause is predicated on the fact that "Because subscription cable/satellite/broadcast services ... assert and enforce copyrights on all their content". this may not always be true. for example, in this case the event organizers signed a "no repeat" clause with some of the artists which prevents Max/V or any other channel from airing it again and makes even the creation of a DVD (which many of us are hoping for and fully intent to buy if/when available) doubtful. I would think that if the channels asserted copyright then they would be able to air again.

thanks for your help and for keeping DIME up!

 Miron

How could people get so unkind?

TV services are not exactly the same between the US and AU.

Indeed they are not. That's why we had to ask.

How does this impact the decision on whether to ban or not a torrent?

Please see

http://wiki.dimeadozen.org/index.php/Allowedtorrents#premium

in our definition of official content.

even in the US there are multiple cable providers and they have different
packages

In those cases we go by what appears to be the most common treatment of
the channel in question among providers.
