I'm finding a presumptuous tone in many recent posts about what
we 'ought to get' with any reissues that may be released.

Perhaps you are projecting this tone into the posts?

I do not, however, feel the band owes me anything.

Only a psychopath would.

Many people here are carrying on in what seems a pretty childish
fashion, whose posts only involve why their favourite songs or live
shows are not being released or re-released.

Because this is a fan list, and these are the only relevant fan
issues to discuss at the moment. (Peter's activities
notwithstanding.)

Enjoy and appreciate, but please don't demand of the artist what
you think they should produce.

For my part in these "recent posts" that are troublesome, I want to
clarify what I wrote with a recap:

1) I mentioned the I think Jim is underestimating what official
material lies in the vaults. I then gave an overview of what
they "could" release. (Could is not the same as "should"- there is a
qualitative difference.)
2)I expressed disbelief that 10-1 is being released in a physical
form in Australia. Far from a "demand", as I don't really want to
pay import prices, I was simply stating that I'm incredulous that the
record company or the band isn't interested in making easy money.
The disc in question is highhly regarded by the Australian people,
and time and money are already being spent to remaster it.
3) I ended by saying that "I really do hope Jim reconsiders..." This
does not constitute a demand. It is a desire to have more of a good
thing, because you can never have too much of it.

Even when the band were very much together I was sometimes
disappointed with what wasn't included but could have been. I was
not, as you say, "bitter" that we didn't always get more, just sad.
For instance, I wished both official live discs could have been
double CDs, as there was enough material. I wished 20K was a double
CD too. I also wished ANY Truganini video had been on the 20K DVD.
I even wanted a 20K 5.1 release, or for "Kiss that Girl" to have been
added to the 5.1 Capricornia. All this has nothing to do with
reissues. It is simply a manifestation of my love for the band and
their music, and my want to experience more of it. Who here honestly
wouldn't have preferred a double "The Real Thing" with "Lucky
Country", "One Country", and "Drums of Heaven"? Is that wrong?

I hope this clarifies my position. As I wrote the other day, "The
world needs more Oils".

Peace,

Matt
