I only ever saw the Oils once - it was a covered open air venue called
the Mann Music Center in Philadelphia in summer 1993. I knew Earth and
Sun and Moon pretty well but not a whole lot else except for things
that got radio airplay. They only played 75 minutes. Ziggy Marley
opened for them. Shame on me for not having followed their tours after
that... I would have really liked to catch the Capricornia tour.

What is the best outdoor Oils show you saw?

The first time I saw the Oils was on a beautiful southern California
evening around the first day of
summer, 1990, at Irvine Meadows Amphitheater.? Hunters & Collectors
opened the show, and
although they were barely known in the States ("When The River Runs
Dry" was getting some
airplay on our alternative radio station), they turned out to be one
of the best support acts I've ever seen.?
Then the Oils came out and played just a fantastic set.??To this day
one of?my?top five concerts I've
ever seen?(and I've seen a few over my 54 years).?
