guys,

lets stop kidding ourselves. taping of shows is illegal not to
mention sharing them around. there is no grey area here. it is true
that copyrights cover work of a fixed nature (whereas one could
argue that a live performance is not an exact replica of the
original) but these are legal nuances that will not stop prosecution
and very few of us can afford legal advice that could compete with
what the authorities are likely to throw at us.

we also mustnt confuse the band with the recording industry.

having said that, all evidence points to the fact that unless money
is involved - particularly potential loss of money, there seem to be
little interest to prosecute. so all these guys sharing pirated
copies of what goes around as music these days or dvds or games take
the heat off us.

as far as Rob's concern for quality, if anyone has his ear would you
do us a favour and point him in the direction of pearl jam?

i would gladly buy any live cd the band puts out which is of a
higher quality than the recording i have.

Miron

How could people get so unkind?
