1. what's your name? Heidi
2. where do you live? Syracuse, NY (for the school year), Goshen, Indiana
(for the summer)
3. how old are you? 20
4. what do you do for a living? student at Syracuse University and part
time barista
5. what was the first song you heard by the Oils? Blue Sky Mine
6. how old were you when you heard it? 6
7. what are your two favorite albums, from one extreme to the other? ESM
and PWAP
8. favorite energetic song? King of the Mountain
9. favorite slow song? Now or Never Land
10. what song(s) defines the Oils? Hercules...or maybe Lucky Country...I
don't know...that's tough.
11. what song is *least* characteristic of the Oils? One Too Many Times
12. Martin or Jim? Geez...I could never pick between the two. I like them
both because they each have their own great strengths as guitarists.
13. what Oils song did you absolutely hate at first and now love? Feeding
Frenzy...for some reason when I was little I'd always skip that song on ESM
and go right into My Country.
14. did you buy any Oils releases totally on faith, without having heard
a single song before buying it? Almost half of the albums I bought the
summer before my freshman year of high school. My family was taking a trip
in Europe and I stumbled upon tons of Oils albums that I'd never seen while
shopping at FNAC in Brussels. I didn't care...they were Oils albums so I
bought them even though I'd never heard a single song off of them. :)
15. do you play any instruments? guitar and cello
16. if you could go to any ONE place mentioned in an Oils song, where
would you go? that's a hard call too...I'd love to travel all over and see
as much of it as I could. Sorry guys...can't pick just one.
17. have the Oils ever inspired you to take any direct action as part of
any environmental/social activist cause? Yep...my friends complain to me
all the time about how anal I am about recycling and stuff like that. The
one that bugs them the most --I refuse to eat fast food because of the links
with deforestation, not to mention all the waste it causes.
18. have you ever had any Oils-related dreams? Lots!!! The funniest one
has to be one that I had where the Oils had an impromptu gig in one of my
lecture halls. Jim was playing drums and Rob was lead singer and
guitarist...the other guys weren't there. Rob was playing a black guitar,
wearing some weirdo 80's getup and was singing and playing 'Hello Mary Lou,
Goodbye Heart'. Ugh...I hate that song!! :-P
19. Bones or Giffo? Bones is amazing.
20. what forgotten song deserves another spin? If Ned Kelly Was King!!! My
FAVORITE song EVER!! :)

kids want to know what the lyrics mean, so that has initiated a lot of
discussions you don't normally have at so young an age. Kids will really
cause you to walk the walk
