there are 2 things to consider

1. region - the world is divided into 6 regions. Australia is region
4 the US is region 1. since this dvd is region free it will play on
any dvd player. this is to say, the dvd player will not reject the
disc saying it is the wrong region

2. tv format - unlike #1 who came about out of the movie making
studios' greed this came about due to the evolution of tv
broadcasting around the world. Australia uses PAL where the US uses
NTSC. unless your dvd player supports pal, as well as on-the-fly
conversion from pal to ntsc (some will support pal but will only
output pal) you will not be able to watch it. if you dvd supports
pal but not conversion your tv also needs to support pal. unless you
made a concerted effort to buy multi system equipment I am 99% sure
your gear will not support pal.

your only option is to watch it on a pc as they are multi system and
this is a region free dvd (yes, pc dvd drives also follow the region
shit)
