Well I just graduated from high school a year ago and from what I remember
we also read "A Separate Peace" as well as "Lord of the Flies," "To Kill a
Mockingbird," "Romeo and Juliet," "The Chosen," "Like Water for Chocolate,"
"A Yellow Raft in Blue Water," and "Their Eyes Were Watching God." There
were a few others, but I can't remember them all.

When I ordered my copy of Willie's on May 7, I was
told that it was currently out of stock and will be
available in 2 to 3 weeks. I guess some book reports
will be 2-3 weeks late!?

Pillars? hmmm... how about interesting reading:

Fortunate Son - J D Hatfeld
Fast Food Nation - Eric Schlosser
The Fatal Shore - Robert Hughes
Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee - Dee Brown
Lies My Teacher Told Me - Janes Loewen

Fiction: Jurassic Park - Michael Crichton
(we *can*, but *should* we?)

(also enjoyed Capricornia & Rabbit-Proof Fence)

This thread makes me wonder - what books are being
taught in high schools today? I remember having to
read these:
Slaugterhouse Five - Kurt Vonnegut
The Plague - Albert Camus
The Three Musketeers - Dumas
A Wrinkle In Time - ???
A Seperate Peace - ??
The Day of The Jackal - ??
