For me and my wife it was the article in National Geographic on Australia=
many moons ago which mentioned the Oils. We immediately went out and sco=
red D&D and got hooked on the overall original sound of the band includin=
g the awesome and powerful vocals. This was several months before Oils m=
usic had any radio play in our area. We have the entire discography and =
have seen them thrice since. For us, what makes Midnight Oil among the b=
est of artists is their diversity of sound. From track to track one does=
not think of them as ever sounding the same which is untrue for most typ=
ical bands.

Lurking in the heartland of Iowa and still can't believe there will never=
be another studio release but thankful to the gents nonetheless.

Tim and Kathy

Well since you asked, and I'm predisposed to rattling
these things off at the merest sniff of a request, the
other gigs, are Dirty Three at Homebake in '96, You Am
I at the Metro in Sydney '95 and again at the Water
Rats in London in '98, The Stones at an amphitheatre
whose name I have forgotten outside Berlin and Nick
Cave and the Bad Seeds at the Enmore last year.
