...something I've been doing quite a lot recently, and I have ended up with quite a few Oils goodies.

Some "real" Midnight Oil stuff, like the original Bird Noises 12" (with cool record labels!) and the original Red Sails LP. The latter has full colour artwork inside (something I hadn't seen before), cool record labels and supposedly a different "original" mix of the whole album. Haven't listened to it yet so I can't confirm the mix. Also picked up the US Forces/Short Memory (instrumental) australian 7". My copy came without a picture sleeve, did they all do that?

Now, for the more obscure items...

First of all, I picked up a cool 3-CD compilation called "Where 2 Now?" issued by the Red Hot Green Black organisation with the subtitle "Australian bands raising awareness and funds for indigenous and environment issues". Oils contribute with "Frontier... What Frontier?", other bands appearing are Cruel Sea, Jebediah, Powderfinger, Superjesus, Shihad, Warumpi Band, Whitlams, Tiddas, Neil Murray, Archie Roach etc. etc. The CDs also have CD-rom components, including a Jabiluka documentary. Quite a find for AU$3!

The other item is the Australian Olympians "You're Not Alone" 7" released in 1988. The song was written by Rob Hirst with Angry Anderson, Mal Logan, Bernie Lynch and John Schumann. Kinda hard to tell if Rob sings/plays on it. He's not listed among the Artists and Musicians but neither is Angry Anderson and he's in the photo of all the artists singing a la Band Aid.

Weird stuff!
