I agree totally! To have been at some of those early gigs would have been
just awesome! I remember Rob also saying (in reference to the blue meanie)
it was real Chatswood garage music and an explosion of pent up teenage
testosterone with heaps of guitar and a million ideas coming out at once
(not directly quoted but pretty close to what he said)! Sounds like pretty
accurate summation as well! But gotta love that early stuff! For me, from
Blue Meanie to Species was their finest work. D&D onwards just doesn't have
the same effect for me. There are tracks that they have released that do it
for me, but I can't pick a song in those early albums that I dont like.
They're full of great songs!
