Hello everyone,

I am curious as to the breakdown (by job title/lifestyle) of
powderworkers. I have this hypothesis that there are a disproportionate
number of scientists/computer people on the list (or maybe we just don't
get out often).To
Soooooooo...... could you email me and tell me your
job/degree/highschool major

Ph.D analytical chemistry; I work for the Nestle North American quality
assurance laboratory. I manage an analytical group, solve problems at
the factories, and track down killer peanuts YAAAAH! PEANUTS MUST
DIE!!!! I'm 43, married to a Matt Lauer look-alike only not so pretty
and with more brains, 2 Pworker sons age 4 and 8.
 And why you do/did it

It's fun, I discovered a knack for it in college, and I knew I couldn't
make a living as a vertebrate paleontologist and would have made a lousy
MD.
, as well as what attracts you to Midnight Oil.
See, I'm psychic, and I knew way back in the 80's that Jim would grow
this beard one day which would turn him into one of the handsomest men
on the face of the Earth....no, actually, it was the screeching that
first attracted me to MO, I think the first song of theirs I heard was
P&P, and I liked the rough vocals and got hooked by the tag line, but I
didn't get seriously on board till D&D at which time the lyrics sucked
me in - and there I've been ever since. It is most definitely all about
the words.
Naturally, the results will be posted.

as for the beard... I saw them play in New York, wherein the
phantasmagorical folicles were few and far between (well, a damn side
shorter), and I have to say that I am impressed with it's growth rate.
As long as it doesn't get caught in the strings, that's all that
matters. I imagine the oncoming summer will see the end of it as beards
do get scratchy and itchy in the heat (don't they ladies!!)
Darling, a real lady never wears a beard after Memorial Day or white
shoes after Labor Day. Miss Manners will need to take you out back for
a few lessons! XOXO - Beth
