What a band indeed, surely the greatest rock band
ever, both in terms of making a joyful and glorious
sound, and in terms of saying important things
articulately and uncompromisingly.
 
In response to Nathan's question, I reckon they never
achieved the popularity of the 'u-wees' because unlike
u2 they didn't become American, despite their many
American fans.

I suspect that there's more very good music and
inspiring activism to come from the specialised and
differentiated Oils, but now it's time to mourn. A
glory has passed from the earth.
