Hi,

MAX TV station will be running a series called My First Gig

Jimmy Barnes is one of the most iconic faces in Australian music, and he returns to MAX in his first solo hosting role with this captivating and exclusive series. Over ten episodes, Jimmy uncovers the stories behind the success of ten legendary artists who have each made their own mark and impact on Australian music history.
Filmed inside Jimmy’s own home, the artists are at ease to share their stories, stories that Jimmy can relate to like no other. Through intimate conversations with these musicians, who are his friends and contemporaries, Jimmy delves into the experiences that shaped and influenced the genesis of their careers, and discovers entertaining and insightful revelations about their first gig.
Each episode of MY FIRST GIG culminates in a special moment as Jimmy and the artist perform a duet in Jimmy’s recording studio. Surrounded by instruments and an air of reminiscence, they sing a song that is of significance to the artist’s early beginnings. For some, it is the first time they and Jimmy have performed together.
Tony Mott, reknowned rock photographer contributes images from his extensive archive towards the production of this series.
The ten Australian artists featured are: Neil Finn, Mark Seymour, Peter Garrett, Marcia Hines, Tex Perkins, Diesel, Richard Clapton, Joe Camilleri, Stephen Cummings and Ross Wilson. Although they share success in their careers, each of these artists have taken different paths to get to where they are today.
